As part of Kalimpong District Police’s intense drive against drug abuse and drug peddlers, we are very happy to announce that we have secured the first ever conviction under NDPS Act in the district. On 17/09/2021, a case was registered at Kalimpong PS under section 22(c) of NDPS Act against one Noorul Haque, in whose possession 335 pieces of Windlas Winspasmo Forte Capsules containing tramadol were found . The accused person had hidden the capsules in a thermoflask and was apprehended by SI Rinzee D. Sherpa on National Highway 10. All of the stringent provisions of the NDPS Act were complied with by SI Rinzee D. Sherpa who then submitted a complaint to IC Kalimpong based on which the case was started. It was investigated by SI TT Bhutia. After the completion of investigation, a chargesheet was submitted against the accused u/s 22(c) of NDPS Act.
