On 14/08/2021 a written complaint was received at Kalimpong Women PS regarding the sexual assault of a minor girl (14 yrs) by her cousin brother. A case was registered under section 6 of POCSO Act, 2012 and LSI Shovna Sewa took up its investigation, completed the investigation and submitted the chargesheet in a span of less than 2 months. The Ld. Special Court sentenced the accused to 20 years Rigorous Imprisonment and a fine of 20,000 as per relevant sections of the law.
