On the intervening night of 11/12.02.24, an incident of burglary occurred in the shop of one Vijay Kr Patel styled as “Patel Enterprise” near Thana Dara by breaking the backside ventilation of the said shop by an unknown miscreant who committed theft of 14 new mobile phones, 14 old mobile phones of repair, 60 pieces of headphones, 50 mobile LCD, 25 mobile chargers, 42 memory cards/ pendrives, 16 batteries, earbuds, speakers and other accessories. After thorough investigation involving study of modus operandi of past theft cases and involvement of technical inputs, the team of Kalimpong PS was able to fix up the identity of the accused, who was identified as one Anmol Gurung of Pedong. The accused confessed to the burglary and several stolen articles were recovered from his possession. The process of interrogation and further recovery of stolen articles is ongoing.
