On 15.01.2024 one 39 year old person from Ghoom, Darjeeling attempted suicide by jumping from Teesta Bridge.
Fortunately Teesta mobile party on duty intervened and persuaded him to step down. It was later learnt that he was facing some personal issues in his family. Already 4 persons have committed suicide within Kalimpong district in 2024. Please remember to keep a watch out for your near and dear ones. If they show any signs of depression or sudden change in behaviour, howmuchever negligible, please reach out to them and seek help.
