On 24th October in association with CNI and KaNGON, we have inaugurated the first ever skateboard park in the hills - the Shuddhi Skateboard Park at Carmichael Ground, after being inspired by the spirit of the motley crew of skaters here in Kalimpong. Last year in April we had a workshop after which we realised that this is an avenue that can be explored to divert youth from substance abuse and also encourage them in a new sport. It is not very big but a safe space exclusively for skaters of the region.
Skateboarding is an Olympic sport since 2020.
