On 26/02/2018, a written complaint was received stating that a minor victim aged 13 years was raped by one Kumar Chhetri. The victim was specially abled and the accused had taken advantage of her vulnerability. Over this, Kalimpong PS Case No. 69/2018 dated 26/02/2018 u/s 06 of POCSO Act was started and endorsed to SI Saran Sarki, and later SI DN Ghising for investigation. Chargesheet was submitted under section 06 of the POCSO Act. After the completion of the trial, the Ld. Trial Court has convicted the accused person and sentenced him to rigorous imprisonment for twenty years and a fine of ?25,000.
