On 03/02/2024, a written complaint was submitted at Kalimpong Police Station against one Binod Thapa alleging that he had murdered his own wife. The accused had a history of torturing the victim, and had brutally assaulted her the night before which resulted in her death. The case was endorsed to SI Md. Mafijuddin for investigation, who chargesheeted the accused person Binod Thapa u/s 498A/302 IPC. After completion of the trial, the Ld. Court has convicted the accused person and sentenced him to rigorous imprisonment for life and a fine of ?20,000.
A complaint was received on 22.10.23 at around 22.30 hrs at Reang Police Station that one Prakash Bhujel of of Upper Yang, Yangmakum was peddling stones at his mother’s house and at that point of time, when Subhash Bhujel, the younger brother of Prakash Bhujel, came and tried to stop him, Prakash Bhujel tried to assault him with a khukuri but he snatched the same and repeatedly assaulted Prakash Bhujel and killed him on the spot. Based on this, Reang PS case no 73/23 Dt. 23.10.23 U/s 302 IPC was started and endorsed to SI Ongchuk Lepcha for investigation. The IO submitted the chargesheet under section 302 IPC. After the completion of the trial, the Ld. Court has convicted the accused person Subhash Bhujel and sentenced him to rigorous imprisonment for life and a fine of ?20,000.
