On 24/05/2024, Kalimpong District Police organized the finale of the 1st Kalimpong District Police Music Talent Hunt Competition. The competition was planned as a way to showcase the singing talent of our police personnel, and was open to all ranks of police personnel from all units. A total of 45 persons applied to the competition, and 24 made it to the semi-finals. A total of 10 singers qualified for the finals, of which two were female and the rest were male.The finale saw enthusiastic attendance from both members of the police and public. Each finalist sang two songs each, one in Nepali and one in Hindi. The performances were mesmerising to say the least, and indicated the potential that a lot of persons in uniform have. The finale also saw the first ever live performance by Kalimpong District Police Band. After the declaration of results, CVF Bikki Gurung was adjudged the Winner, while CVs Manjil Pakhrin and Bishal Rai were selected as the first and second runners up respectively.

The occasion was graced by DIG Darjeeling Range, Smt. Jayeeta Bose, IPS, SP Kalimpong, Shri Shrihari Pandey, IPS, and DM Kalimpong, Shri Balasubramanian T, IAS. We thank the judges, Shri Yogendra Ghatani, Smt Lhamu Bhutia and Shri Virgil Vihaan Sequeira for their support.

We also take the opportunity to extend our gratitude towards Bal Awaaz Parivar and Shri Abhishek Khaling and his band for their performances.
