On 04/07/2022, a written complaint was received at Cyber Crime PS regarding the blackmailing of a minor girl by a person who had contacted her on Facebook and was threatening to make her private pictures viral. Over this incident, Cyber Crime PS Kalimpong Case number 09/22 dated 04.07.2022 U/S 354 A/ 354 D IPC, 67/67B of I.T Act & 12/14 of POCSO Act was started and and Inspector Raj Kumar Malakar took up its investigation and completed the investigation and submitted the chargesheet in a span of less than 2 months. Today on 12/04/2024 the Ld. Special Court sentenced the accused to 4 years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of ?6,00,000 as per relevant sections of the law.
On 17/05/2019, a written complaint was received at Gorubathan PS regarding the sexual assault of a minor girl (12 yrs). A case was registered under section 6 of POCSO Act and endorsed to SI CB Bhujel for investigation, who completed the investigation and submitted the chargesheet in a span of less than 2 months. The Ld. Special Court sentenced the accused to 14 years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of ?20,000 as per relevant sections of the law.
On 14/08/2021 a written complaint was received at Kalimpong Women PS regarding the sexual assault of a minor girl (14 yrs) by her cousin brother. A case was registered under section 6 of POCSO Act, 2012 and LSI Shovna Sewa took up its investigation, completed the investigation and submitted the chargesheet in a span of less than 2 months. The Ld. Special Court sentenced the accused to 20 years Rigorous Imprisonment and a fine of Rs.20,000 as per relevant sections of the law.
On 30/06/2021, a written complaint was received at Kalimpong Women PS regarding sexual assault of a minor girl by her own father. A case was registered under section 6 of POCSO Act and endorsed to LSI Shovna Sewa for investigation, who completed the investigation and submitted the chargesheet in a span of less than 2 months. The Ld. Special Court sentenced the accused to 20 years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of ?10,000 as per relevant sections of the law. On 09/10/2021, a case was lodged at Kalimpong Women PS under section 8 of POCSO Act regarding the molestation of a minor girl by the accused. The case was endorsed to LSI Manisha Lama who completed the investigation and submitted chargesheet against the accused. Now, after completion of the trial, the Ld. Special Court has sentenced the accused to three years imprisonment and a fine of ?2,000.

Last year on 15th August evening, information was received that one Samir Rai and Sanjay Chettri of Kalimpong has committed gang rape upon a woman after incapacitating her by making her consume intoxicating substance. The woman reported the matter to Kalimpong P.S On 30.08.2023, Ld. Kalimpong Court convicted both accused persons for 20 years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 50,000/-. We congratulate SI Shanti Lama and team for timely investigation and pursuing the trial till its timely completion.
On 14.05.2022 one Hemant KC of Goskhan, Avishake (Abbu), Kishan Basur, Asim Ahamed, Mobarrak, Sahil Saha, Avinab Basur and others of Goskhan attacked a person and stabbed him with a knife. SI Pushpa Kr Rai of Kalimpong PS completed proper investigation on time and on 30.9.2023 Ld District Court, Kalimpong convicted 26 year old Hemant Chettri to 10 years rigorous imprisonment and 10,000/- fine.

On 18.08.2023 a theft of crash-barriers, was reported from Rongdung bridge in Mongpong.
Rongdung Bridge is an accident black spot where in 4 accidents have reported in 2023 itself. 4 people have died and 6 injured in these accidents. Mongpong police team immediately started investigation and one Nirmal Pradhan of Ellenbari was arrested and stolen crash barrier was recovered from his possession. On the same evening Mongpong police detained a vehicle during naka on checking which was carrying more than 2000 kgs of stolen electric wires and other accessories. Md. Farukh and Md. Adil of Bihar were arrested.
On 11.08.2023, Kalimpong Police conducted a session at Kalimpong college on how to use the internet and social media for safe income generation for pocket money. This is the first of the series of sessions aiming at young students, so that they do not fall into the trap of making some income from illegal sources.
On the night of 30/11/2019, Mrs. Chandra Gurung was brutally murdered by an unknown person. A case was subsequently initiated at Kalimpong Police Station and investigation was initiated by SI Laxman Pokhrel.
In due course, the culprit was identified as one Pincho Namgyal Bhutia s/o La. Tshering Bhutia, r/o Chumerchin, 20th Mile P.S.& Dist. Kalimpong and was subsequently arrested. Finally on 22.6.23, Ld Court, Kalimpong has awarded rigorous Imprisonment for life along with a fine of total Rs. 50,000/- on the accused Pincho Bhutia. Remember: No crime goes unpunished.

On 02.06.2016 a minor girl was reported missing in Jaldhaka PS. Even after sincere efforts in the first few weeks, she could not be traced. However police continued in their efforts and on 01.04.2023 after 7 years she has been recovered from Uttar Pradesh by a team from Jaldhaka PS led by ASI Bidhan Rai and communication could be established with her relatives.

Acting on source information, officials of Kalimpong District Police intercepted a vehicle bearing Registration number SK 01 PC 7107 at Melli and seized substantial quantities of contraband capsules "WINSPASMO FORTE" from two accused travelling in the vehicle namely Karma Tenzing Bhutia of Rongli and Kishore Gurung of Rhenock.
Both were arrested and booked under proper sections of the law.

On information received from Sikkim Police today (17/10/2022), two minor boys of Sittong, Kurseong were observed loitering around Rangpo Bridge.
Acting on this information, officials of Kalimpong District Police led a probe in which it was revealed that the two boys had run away from their home on 15/10/2022.
Following this discovery, their Legal Guardian were immediately called and the boys were handed over to them.
In a different turn of events, In the evening today (17/10/2022) during Naka checking, Kalimpong Police intercepted a Sikkim bound vehicle bearing Registration number SK-01J-2458 at Melli area and recovered a huge quantity of banned high risk firecrackers.

In March 2018 a minor girl was reported missing from 8 mile, Kalimpong. On this day she has been recovered after she was traced in Madhya Pradesh and persuaded to return home.
ASI Dinesh Dayal of Anti Human Trafficking never gave up and after months of persuasion managed to return home and be reunited with her family.

On 26.08.2020 one Pachyo Lepcha of Nimbong had murdered his wife by attacking her with a khukuri over a family dispute.

The Road Safety Week 2021 was organised at at Rambhi with assistance from Patha Bandhu volunteers of NH-10 under Kalimpong District.

Kalimpong Police on 26/06/2021 seized 205 capsules of "WINSPASMO", 05 strips of "PROXYMED SPAS" capsules 02 strips of "NITROZEPAM" tablets, and 02 strips of "NITROSUN 10" tablets from the possession of three suspects who have been arrested and booked under proper section of the law.
Over an incident of sexual assault on a minor girl, reported in 2020 before Kalimpong Women Police Station, a case was registered vide Women PS Case No. 07/20 dated 12.06.2020 under section 06 of POCSO Act and section 376(02)(f)(i) IPC. During investigation it was learnt that the victim was subject to sexual assault for nearly 01 year by the accused person.
On completion of investigation under supervision of Senior Officers of Kalimpong Police, LSI Shanti Lama, the Investigating Officer, submitted the Charge Sheet. The case was also taken under trial monitoring.
On 15.09.2021 the Special POCSO Court, Kalimpong convicted the accused and ordered him to be sentenced to rigorous Imprisonment for Life and to pay fine of Rs. 50,000/- in default to suffer imprisonment for a term of 03 years for offence punishable under section 06 of POCSO Act. He is also to suffer rigorous Imprisonment for Life and to pay fine of Rs. 50,000/- in default to suffer imprisonment of 03 years for offence punishable under section 376 IPC.
